A hand-carved scrimshaw powder horn, formed from the horn of an ox and engraved in pointillé technique; upstand to the rim pierced for attachment of a lid or stopper; mounted on a custom-made display stand.
Decoration arranged in three registers:
1) a twin-spired building with ox emerging behind, an arrow-pierced heart and foliage,
2) with a peacock, horseman and male genitalia,
3) with profile bust of a lady, a wheel and further foliage; with an uncertain name ‘E????????’ and date.
