A Byzantium Jadeite Pendant with Heraclius

Provenance: English private collection.

A Byzantine jadeite pendant engraved with the face of the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire, Heraclius (610-641 AD).
Heraclius is front facing with draped and cuirassed body holding the Petrine Cross in each hand, pointing to the right and to the left.
The backside of the pendant is engraved with the Cross of Saint Peter and star in each corner.
Very rare and very good quality of intact bronze structure holding the green jadeite.
