Qingbai-Glazed pierced and moulded “Fish amidst flowers” Incense Burner.
Elegantly potted with fish and flowers details.
Covered overall with a transparent pale-blue glaze pooling.

ORIGIN: Southern Song Dynasty.
The dating of this burner is confirmed by the result of the thermoluminescence test done by Arcadia Tecnologie per i Beni Culturali, Milan, Italy.

Of circular form, supported on three trefoil feet, the domed cover molded with a central chrysanthemum surrounded by lotus flowers, the body incised with fish and lotuses surrounded by scrolling vines, applied overall with a thin and finely crackled pale green glaze.

CONDITION: Excellent condition with minor wear and firing flaws, including three evenly spaced spur marks and minimal glaze flakes, intentional crackling, minimal losses. Scientific Analysis

REPORT: A thermoluminescence sample analysis has been conducted by Arcadia Tecnologie per i Beni Culturali, in Milan, Italy, reference number NLL04, dated 21 February 2017, and is consistent with the suggested period of manufacture.
