A fireplace fragment of Satyress carved into white marble.
The design recalls a mature female satyr with her offspring leaning against her knee while she leans on a marble block and being observed by others.
Female satyr is entirely an invention of post-Roman European artists, as the Greek satyrs were exclusively male.
