A pair of largely identical black-glazed redware kantharoi, both with round base ring, funnel-shaped neck with curved lip, two strap handles raised above the rim.
The kantharos is a cup mainly used to hold wine, possibly for drinking or for ritual use or offerings.
The kantharos seems to be an attribute of Dionysos, the god of wine, who was associated with vegetation and fertility.
One kantharos restored with chip to the base.
NOTE: Sold as a pair or separately.
